I have installed rx 590 in my pc with motherboard hp elite 8300 cmt but the problem is when i start my pc it doesn't give display now it worked perfectly then. I left it for 2 months didn't use it and now when i started it it gave that ram issue i fixed that but new issue popped up the gpu issue. When i remove one 8gb ram and left other it starts perfectly giving display and when put it doesn't.but here come confusion when i start pc from igpu it starts perfectly but when with rx 590 it doesn't give display. However i fixed that by removing graphics card and removing CMOS battery it reset bios and then i put graphics card back it started and now when i started it today it gave same no display issue. I don't know what's problem is. Is it pcie slot issue or ram issue or gpu issue.

Thanks for reading

Hello ROGE_r,

Thank you for posting your concern,

It sounds like there is a conflict or power issue related to your graphics card and RAM configuration. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Power Supply Check: Ensure that your power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to handle both the RX 590 GPU and your full RAM configuration. The RX 590 requires additional power through 8-pin or 6-pin power connectors directly from the PSU. Check to make sure these are securely connected.

  2. Reseat Components: Temporarily remove and then reseat both the RX 590 GPU and RAM sticks to ensure they are properly connected. Dust accumulation could also be causing poor connections, so ensure all contacts are clean.

  3. Check BIOS Settings: Access the BIOS setup and ensure that the dedicated GPU is set as the primary display adapter. Also, check for any settings that might affect memory compatibility or multi-channel configurations.

  4. Check GPU and RAM Compatibility: Verify that both your RX 590 and the RAM modules are compatible with the HP Elite 8300 CMT motherboard. There could potentially be a conflict with the memory configuration when all slots are occupied.

  5. Update BIOS: Make sure the BIOS for your HP Elite 8300 CMT is updated to the latest version, as newer BIOS updates can sometimes fix compatibility issues with newer hardware.

  6. Test with Different Slots: Experiment with different RAM slots and configurations. It’s possible that one slot could be faulty or that the specific memory configuration is causing instability.

  7. Check for Faulty Hardware: Test the RX 590 and RAM sticks individually on another compatible system to verify that they are working correctly.

  8. Look For Fault Codes: Listen for any audible beep codes when booting. These could provide additional insight into what might be causing the issue.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be best to consult with a technician or reach out to HP Support for more detailed assistance.
