I'd like to upgrade the graphics card. I thought a passively cooled Geforce GT 1030 would be a good bet, but it would not fit due to the large heat sink and the proximity of the slot to the power supply.
Can this model PC provide enough power for an actively cooled GT 1030?

Hi:
I think you'd be OK with a GT 1030 running on a 180W power supply.
The card only draws 30 watts.
Seems like other folks agree with me...

hi
indeed, you will have to check the dimensions of the graphics card.
you must have a very small box, and depending on the card chosen it may not fit
You will probably need a low profile type
in the series, we mainly see the model nvidia GeForce® GT 730 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated), unfortunately the dimensions are not given

Hi, @drasher25
I believe a good candidate would be this GT 1030, but I can't believe how expensive they've gotten!
I bought two EVGA fanless models for $89.99 a couple of years ago from Best Buy.
Maybe you can find one in used but tested and working condition on eBay.
The GT 730 would draw slightly more power than the GT 1030....38 W vice 30 W for the 1030.
The GT 730 would also be a whole lot cheaper...

I will give the Gigabyte 1030 model a try! ShopBLT.com has that card up for about $95 (with a wait, but I'm in no hurry).
I've put the ASUS passively cooled model up on eBay. It did barely fit lengthwise, bit the large heat sink made the card too thick for the space.
I will report back on how the Gigabyte works after it arrives.
