Hi there,
I recently bought the HP 15t-fd000 and the screen is annoyingly bright, can barely read. I tried adjusting the color and brightness without any luck.
I dont know what else to try, help!

Hi @Gaby-Lo, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If adjusting the brightness and color settings didn’t help, here are a few things you can try to fix the overly bright screen on your HP 15t-fd000 running Windows 11:
Adjust Brightness from Windows Settings
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to System > Display.
- Under Brightness & color, adjust the Brightness slider.
Disable Adaptive Brightness (if enabled)
- Open Control Panel and go to Power Options.
- Click Change plan settings next to the selected power plan.
- Click Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Display > Enable adaptive brightness and set it to Off for both battery and plugged-in modes.
Update or Reinstall Display Drivers
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click on your GPU (Intel UHD or NVIDIA) and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
- If the problem persists, try Uninstall device, then restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall the driver.
Check Intel Graphics Command Center (IGCC)
- Search for Intel Graphics Command Center in the Start menu.
- Go to Display > Color and try adjusting Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma.
- If Local Adaptive Contrast Enhancement is on, disable it.
Reset Display Settings
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
- Click Display adapter properties and reset any custom settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
