HP All-in-One 27 Desktop PC 27-cb0000a (3B5K3AV)

When the computer boots up it displays a blue coloured screen until I log in and then all colours are shades of black and white.  When I go into Enhancement settings the colour palette shows a colour - eg Green but the display square for this colour shows a shade of grey.  Is this a windows 11 problem or a hardware problem?

Hello Alden,

Thank you for your post.  I have set up a new local user and the colours are displaying ok.  Somehow the main logon person has changed her profile and I will check to see where I can reset it.

Hi @WIll_Wond,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing a blue screen during boot-up and then having issues with color display after logging in could indicate either a software or hardware problem. Here's how you can troubleshoot.

Software Issue:

  • Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or faulty graphics drivers can cause color display issues. Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.
  • Check Display Settings: Verify that the color settings in Windows are configured correctly. You can adjust color settings by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Display settings," and then navigating to the "Advanced display settings" and "Color management" sections.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve display issues.

Hardware Issue:

  • Check Connections: Ensure all cables connecting your monitor to the computer are securely plugged in. Loose connections can cause display problems.
  • Test with Another Monitor: If possible, connect your computer to a different monitor and see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the issue lies with the monitor or the computer itself.
  • Hardware Diagnostics: Run hardware diagnostics on your HP All-In-One desktop PC. HP provides diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues.

Color Profile: It's possible that the color profile settings on your computer are incorrect. Try resetting the color profile to default settings or adjusting it to see if it resolves the issue.

Safe Mode: Boot your computer into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it's likely caused by third-party software or drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
