Hey all.

Recently upgraded computer to a Mac mini m4 pro, running Tahoe 26.1, with a HP 727PK monitor.

I'm running into significant color/contrast issues etc between my displayed image, and how it exports and presents on other devices.  I am processing astrophotography photos through a program called Pixinsight.  In app settings are sRGB.

I have tried my display with both HDR on and off, on it appears closer to the final processed image.

I have worked through basic color calibration online, and it appears as though the monitor is at least quite closely color accurate.

I have tried various settings in color management setup without much success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Hello @WoogsNuts ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Color calibration is an important process when working with HP DesignJet printers, such as those using the HP 727PK cartridge, to ensure consistent and accurate color output. Here’s how you can perform color calibration:

  1. Access the Printer Menu:

    • Use the printer's front panel to access the menu. Navigate to the "Setup" or "Tools" section depending on your printer model.
  2. Select Color Calibration:

    • Find and select the "Color Calibration" option. This might be under "Image Quality Maintenance" or a similar menu item.
  3. Perform Calibration:

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the color calibration. The printer will print a calibration sheet and automatically make adjustments to optimize color output.
  4. Use HP Utility for Remote Calibration:

    • If you have HP Utility installed on your computer, you can perform color calibration remotely. Open HP Utility, go to "Color Center," and select "Calibrate" or "Color Calibration."
  5. Check Results:

    • Once the color calibration process is complete, you can print a test page to verify the calibration results. Ensure that colors appear accurate and consistent.
  6. Regular Calibration:

    • To maintain optimal color accuracy, it is recommended to perform color calibration regularly or whenever changing cartridges or media types.

For more detailed instructions specific to your printer model, refer to the user manual or the support documentation available on the HP Support website.
