Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4200 Video Graphics Integrated on Motherboard: Foxconn Name: H -ALVORIX_HF-RS880-uATX HP/compaq Motherboard name: Alvorix-GL8E & Chipset: AMD 7856
I have a DVI-D splitter for HP monitor on Desk above PC and an Acer Monitor on long DVI-D Cable 16' both work.
Have Q1000Z Router and using it with ethernet cord, discontinued wireless have HP Envy 5660 All-in-One connected to PC but I only turn it on when I want to use it.
I started getting vertical colored lines on HP Monitor w2207h 19" LCD, sits just above the PC. Very thin lines white, yellow and pink closest to the left side of display panel., about two months ago. I set up the dual monitors about 3 or 4 months ago.
I watched a youtube video that showed to push on top edge of screen. I did that and only on line, the yellow one in the middle of the 3 went away temporarily. The others had no change.
I get the feeling that my monitor is dying, but I thought maybe I could inject a virtual antibiotice or home made health rememdy or something to fight off whatever it is afflicted with/ Wishful thinking?
Is there any kind of DIY for an issue like this or should I just let her go in her own time while I ride her til the wheels fall off? haha I sounded sympathetic then cruel didn't I?
Anyway, are there any fixes for this, like an update for graphics that isn't a card but looks like it is all complicated on Motherboard etc like I posted above.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Monitor. I understand that your are getting vertical lines on the monitor and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- Did you check the monitor on self test mode to check if that is a hardware issue?
If not, follow the below steps:
Turn off the computer.
Remove the data cable from the monitor which connects to computer tower.
Turn in only the monitor and check if the vertical lines appears.
If yes, then it is a hardware issue.
This issue may require one to one interaction with the HP Phone Support.
I suggest that you contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp
If the monitor is out of warranty, you can get it fixed with the local technician.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

Thank you. I have done as you suggested. Yes, I believe it is the monitor itself as I have two monitors connected to the same printer and the other is fine.
I guess it is just old and going to fail at some point.
