HP LCD Monitor - Displayport is not displaying when I connected my Laptop with the cable. Please help on what shall I do? Thanks

It is an old monitor. How do you connect to your computer ?

Verify the monitor works by connecting it to a DVD player, Xbox, etc. I assume you have a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that is connected to the monitor.
If it works then re-connect to laptop and bring up the device manager. Look under display for the device. If there then press WindowsKey + P and select More Display Settings and look for it. If it does not show up then the try another HDMI cable.
If it does not show up in device manager that indicates the laptop port is not enabled. Different problem entirely. Will need more info to fix that.
