hp 24er 23.8 inch Display Serial #3CM739063W
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Downloaded HP My Display version 2.21 Rev.A.  Starts up,says enumerating display devices Phase 1, then crashes and says HP My Display has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  This is a brand new monitor.  Any ideas?  Thanks,

As I understand, HP My Display software does not work.

I understand you are in need of assistance and I'd love to help.

 

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

 

Step 1. Uninstall HP My display from the PC.

Step 2: Update the graphics driver

Check for display driver update in the Device Manager (Windows 10)

  • In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  • In the list of devices, expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click the graphics device and select Update Driver Software.
  • Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
  • Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Update drivers through HP Support Assistant 8 or install latest drivers from support.hp.com

  • On the taskbar, click the HP Support Assistanthttp://hp.dezide.com/data/pictures/hp-external/web_author/guid-2b140cd1-20b7-40ba-a1dd-f4f2875a05ed-low_73499_en.jpg icon.
  • If there is no icon in the taskbar, search for and open HP Support Assistant in Windows.
  • Click My devices on the top of the HP Support Assistant window, then click Updates in the My PC box. The Updates window opens.
  • If HP Support Assistant detects updates, the updates display in the Updates available window.
  • To check for recent updates, click Check for updates and messages and install them.

Step 3: Install HP 24ea LCD Monitor Driver:

Step 4: Reinstall HP My Display drivers:

For further troubleshooting, refer to the User Guide.

I did have to uninstall the software, and update my display driver.  Also had to get an up dated version of HP My Display as the one I downloaded from the HP website is too old.  It is now working.

My error is similar and i tried the steps above.

In my case, i get the error after it does the 'enumerating display devices phase 1" thing. I then says that " my display stopped working".

 

I have a brand new HP laptop...two monitors hooked up and working fine, but used to have the my display software when i had my other desktop.

 

The only real difference that I think may be causing the issue is that both my monitors are connected via the HP USB-C dock device. Would this cause the issue?

Scratch the dock being the issue. Just connected one of the displays to the laptop directly and disconnected the second display completely. Have the same error coming up.

I had to download the newest version which is Version 2.22.  Note, the following site which supplies this software - http://www.portrait.com/dtune/hpc/enu/index.html.  There is also a download page for what looks like different graphic cards. - http://www.portrait.com/dtune/hpc/enu/upgrade_instructions.html.  Not sure this will help with your issue, but may be worth a look. Mine may have worked as I have a Nvidia card.

Not sure how this site is related to HP My Display...can you clarify?

I haven't received any updates...does anyone know anything about this issue? Someone mentioned a newer version of Mydisplay...where would i find it? They mentioned the version on the website was old.
