Hi all,

so I bought a new monitor, HP Omen 32q. Unfortunately, when I turn on my PC (Ryzen 7 5800X, ASUS ROG Strix B550-A, Sapphire AMD RC 6750XT, 32 GB RAM, 650W PSU) which is connected via DP. The monitor won't turn on. Sometimes my computer beeps (1 long, 3 short) which can be a sign for a GPU issue. However the monitor works just fine. I just have to turn it on manually. If I have connected another device via HDMI as well that device atomatically will be turned on when I turn on the monitor manually. Then I just have to switch to DP input on the Monitor. Same issue with other DP cables. No Issue with other monitors.

I've tried different energy and input settings on the monitor, changing the screen frequency settings in Windows, advanced Power options and so on. Nothing helped.

Any Ideas someone?

Thanks in Advance

@CleganeTheHound, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Connections:

Make sure the DP cable is securely connected to both the monitor and PC.

Try a different DP cable to see if that helps.

Set Input Manually:

Go into the monitor’s menu and set the input to DisplayPort (DP) manually instead of relying on auto-detect.

Update Monitor Firmware:

Check HP’s website for any firmware updates for your Omen 32q monitor.

Adjust Power Settings:

Disable Fast Startup in Windows: Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do.

In Device Manager, uncheck the option Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power for your GPU.

Check BIOS Settings:

In BIOS, make sure the primary display is set to PCIe (or Auto).

Test the Monitor on Another PC:

Test the Omen 32q on a different computer to see if the issue is with the monitor or your PC.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
