I bought it last year for home, just to browse the news and check emails during morning coffee. I was absolutely happy...
However, I'm working recently a lot from home, so I decided to use en extra display (at the office I work on 3 and sometimes is not enough )
In addition, I decided that for many hours, often at night, a 60hz display is not enough, so I bought a slightly higher quality monitor.
And this is where the problem begins...
My computer does not have a display port... OK... We have 3 HDMI... No reaction. USB-C - nothing.
I checked the BIOS settings, but there is no configuration for HDMI.
I thought the problem was in my computer, because the new monitor works perfectly with the laptop.
The computer is still under warranty, so I reported the case to HP.
Person from customer support was very polite and tried to help, but... 😱 she advised me to go the shop and buy HP display, because my PC will not work with different brand. After I explained her that I'm not buing this story she started to investigate and check and after few minutes she informed me that my PC has only input ports no output for video...
This seemed to be even more ridiculous, but then I found this forum and realized that I'm not the only one...
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/hp-pavilion-32-b0001na-all-in-one-want...
So my question to HP is… are you serious… ?!
How it is possible that someone created such a configuration and somebody else approved it … ?
How it is possible to make nice product with decent design, branded audio, even with the wireless charger in the foot and forget about VIDEO OUTPUT… ! No comment... 🤣
I believe that no answer to above, so I ask another one...
- Can you help me ? 😁
I don't expect apologizes on your corporate website, I am not going to make statements that I will never buy anything with your logo, because it is not truth and I am not planning to occupy your headquarter building...
I just expect contact from a competent person who knows how to solve this nonsense problem...
Hope to hear from you soon...
Greetings,
Adam.

Hi @AdamNL,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand there are a few options you can explore to add external display functionality to your system:
Use a USB-to-HDMI Adapter:
- Devices like USB 3.0 to HDMI adapters (or USB-C to HDMI adapters if your PC supports video over USB-C) can allow you to extend your desktop to an external monitor.
- These adapters rely on DisplayLink technology, which works well for most applications but may not be ideal for high-performance tasks like gaming or editing.
External Docking Stations:
- A docking station that supports video output via USB-C or USB-A could also provide a solution. Ensure it’s compatible with Windows and supports the resolution and refresh rate of your new monitor.
Wireless Display Options:
- If your external monitor supports Miracast or another wireless display standard, you can use Windows’ Project feature to connect wirelessly.
- This may introduce slight latency but is often sufficient for multitasking or general productivity.
Steps to Proceed
Check USB-C Capabilities:
- Not all USB-C ports support video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode). Verify whether your All-in-One’s USB-C port supports this function in the device specifications or user manual.
Choose the Right Adapter or Dock:
- If USB-C doesn’t support video output, look for USB-to-HDMI adapters with DisplayLink technology. Verify compatibility with your operating system and monitor.
Refer to this document: HP PCs - Connecting a monitor, projector, or TV (Windows)
HP PCs - Using two or more monitors with one computer (Windows 11, 10)
HP PCs - Connecting to a wireless monitor or smart TV (Windows 11, 10)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
