Hi There,
As per post by Gary1854 posted 27-09-2019 07:22 AM, "hp 24-b010z touch screen has disappeared after windows updates" it would appear I have the same issue.
I have a clients HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b010 (Touch) computer that was working fully until recently but now:
The Touchscreen is not working and no longer visible in Device Manager or in the HP Support Assistant Diagnostic tools.
In addition the Webcam has stopped functioning and shows a "Port reset failed" in Device manager.
- I have followed all the obvious steps as outlined by Echo_Lake (HP Support Agent) in that thread. So I can confirm all Windows updates, HP drivers and software, including BIOS are all up to date.
- The Webcam shows "no driver required" in device manager and no driver updates are available.
- I have tried uninstalling the device and rebooting - but it comes back with the same error.
- My only guess is that some update has caused the problem as per the previous thread - but that is not clear from any event logs.
- No driver updates that may have caused the problem were visible and no new driver updates available - as the machine does not think it has a touchscreen to update
- I did manage to update the BIOS and install the HP Support Software onto the UEFI partition - but when run it does not show any Touchscreen in the Component Tests
The rest of the computer appears to be functioning fine. So my question is:
Is there anything else I can try to fix the touchscreen/webcam or does this machine need to be written off or used without the use of the webcam/touchscreen hardware?
Clearly the computer is out of warranty but as far as I can tell is sold as Windows 10 compatible - is that correct?
Cheers.

@TalkLink -- usually a "touch-pad" or a "touch-screen" or "web-camera" is connected (internally) as a USB device.
So, has some of the USB circuitry on the motherboard "failed", to make those devices "vanish" ?
Can you take a "non-essential" USB memory-stick, and connect it to an open USB socket?
Is it recognized and usable by Windows? Hopefully, any "failed" USB circuitry on the motherboard will not "kill" that memory-stick ("over-voltage" burn-out).
