HP Pavilion 570
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Pavilion 570 Home Desktop computer was recently working just fine. After moving it to a different part of the house, it does not turn on anymore. I made sure that it wasn’t a problem with the outlet by moving it back to the same outlet and it did not work still. I have tried everything at this point, from using a blow dryer to taking out the ram and putting it back a million times. The green light in the back is on whenever I plug in the power cord, but whenever I press the power button on top of the pc tower, nothing happens. I’ll appreciate any advice I’m desperate at this point I miss my computer 😞

@Mundo1,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

My first suspicion would be that you are dealing with a defective power supply, so that assumption is what I would start with.

Please provide the exact part number/SKU/model of your HP Pavilion 570.

@Mundo1,

All right: your HP Pavilion 570-p013wb Desktop PC (Z5L86AA), according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05556786, and: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=Z5L86AA, is fitted with the HP p/n: 848129-800 "Power Supply - GNRC, 180W ES6 Bronz uATX CrastoS" and the Lubin motherboard (SSID: 82F2) which is 24-pin ATX-power enabled, meaning you can swap out the stock 180-watt power supply with any industry standard ATX PSU, as long as you watch its dimensions (WxLxH) to make sure it will fit inside your desktop.

For example, an affordable 500-watt ATX power supply, such as: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BDCKFJJT/ref=sspa_dk_detail_6?pd_rd_i=B0BDCKFJJT&pd_rd_w=bt7Tp&content-i..., has these product dimensions: 150mm (W) x 140mm (L) x 85mm (H) / 5.9 x 5.5 x 3.3inches.  See if this power supply fits inside your case.

Anyway, the point is what I would do if faced with your issue, is hooking up your desktop with a different power supply.  Since your HP desktop has the (rare) opportunity to be powered with an industry standard ATX power supply, that is what I would try first.  Perhaps you or a friend has an ATX power supply lying around, and you could try it out before buying a new one -but easily returned if purchased from Amazon, for example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@Pasquipr72,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

What I gleaned from your information, is that we are talking about an HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p010 (Z5M05AA), which, according to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=Z5M05AA, and: HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p010 PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support, is fitted with a180-watt power supply with HP p/n: 848130-800 "Power Supply - GNRC, 180W Regular eff CrastoS", and an HP Lubin motherboard with SSID: 82F2.

This motherboard is 24-pin ATX-power enabled, meaning, you could swap out the stock 180-watt power supply with any industry standard ATX power supply (especially the smaller-sized or mini-ITX units), as long as you watch its dimensions (LxWxH) for fit inside your desktop.

Kind Regards,
