The HP Pavillion all in one 27 inch computer says that it has an HDMI in and out port. The back of the computer only has one HDMI port, so I assumed that the one port supports both in and out functions. For the Nintendo Switch you can hook the HDMI cable up to the TV to see the game on the TV. I would like to do the exact same thing with this computer. I would like to hook up my Nintendo Switch to use the monitor to see the game I am playing. Supposedly, when I read the HP page on my computer it says that it supports playing games and such. When I plug the Nintendo Switch's HDMI cord into the docking stand port, and the other end into the computers HDMI port, nothing shows on the screen. No notification showing that anything was plugged in. I'm not sure how to get it to show up on my computers screen or what to do.

Your machine is one of the following series
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_8028670-8028714-16
which says it has ONE HDMI Out port.that's all. You can use this port to connect to an external monitor. You can NOT use game consoles because NO HDMI in port.
Regards.
