Hi @ramvarsha09,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Hp Monitor with no display!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Check Monitor Input Source
- Press the Menu button on your monitor.
- Navigate to Input Source and ensure it is set to HDMI or DisplayPort (whichever cable you're using).
- If buttons are locked, hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to unlock them.
2. Adjust MacBook Display Settings
- Go to: System Settings → Displays.
- Click Detect Displays (if available).
- Try changing the refresh rate to 60Hz.
- Set Resolution to Scaled and pick a lower one like 1080p.
- If "Mirror Displays" is on, try toggling it off.
3. Reset Monitor & MacBook Connections
- Unplug the monitor's power cable and HDMI/DisplayPort cable for 5 minutes.
- Restart your MacBook.
- Reconnect everything in this order:
- Connect the power cable to the monitor.
- Connect the video cable (HDMI/DisplayPort).
- Turn the monitor on before the MacBook.

4. Try a Different Cable or Adapter
- If using an HDMI to USB-C adapter, try a different one.
- Test with a different HDMI/DisplayPort cable.
- If possible, try another monitor or TV to check if the issue is with the MacBook.
5. Reset NVRAM & SMC on MacBook
NVRAM Reset:
- Shut down your Mac.
- Turn it on and immediately press & hold:
Option + Command + P + R for 20 seconds. - Release and let it restart.
SMC Reset (for Intel Macs):
- Shut down your Mac.
- Hold Shift + Control + Option + Power for 10 seconds.
- Release and turn it back on.
6. Check macOS Updates & Drivers
- Go to System Settings → General → Software Update and install any updates.
- If you recently updated macOS, check if others are having display issues with that version.
