Hi, I'm trying to connect both my laptop, a 16" M1-based MacBook Pro running the most current version of macOS (Ventura 13.3.1 (a)), and my USB-C iPad, to my U28 4K HDR monitor. While it has connected successfully in the past, I can't get it to connect again even after rebooting my MacBook and putting my iPad to sleep and waking it up.
Sometimes, the monitor will at least charge the MacBook or iPad. Other times, it doesn't.
What's worse, my serial number is not recognized by HP, so I'm unable to get support from HP for it. I copied and pasted the serial number from HP's shopping website into the support site, so there's no way I could have mistaken an O for a 0 (an uppercase oh for a zero).
If this isn't resolved, I plan on contacting my credit card to reverse the charges, as I'm being sold a faulty product and HP seems to be unable or unwilling to honor warranty replacements mere days after selling an item.

Thank you for providing me with this document.
I followed the steps, and unfortunately, it did not solve any of my problems.
Results for the steps:
- The monitor works fine when plugged in to my other computers from either the HDMI or DisplayPort ports. However, it does not work with any other computer of mine when I plug it in via the USB-C port.
- I see on-screen display messages just fine.
- The USB-C connector does not seem to have a bent pin inside it. I tried swapping the cable that I use with the monitor, and the monitor still doesn't work even when I use the USB-C cable that I connect my iMac to a different 4K HP monitor.
- I have connected the monitor to three different computers (MacBook, iMac, iPad) with two different cables (the one that came with this monitor, and another cable that came with my other monitor) and this monitor does not display video from any of these machines anymore.
- See above. The monitor remains blank, so I want the monitor replaced under warranty.
