Hi @Grepapetti ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a half-gray screen on your HP M27f FHD monitor could be due to several reasons, including hardware failure, connection issues, or settings in your operating system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Cables and Connections
- Reconnect cables: Ensure that the HDMI or DisplayPort cable is firmly connected to both the monitor and the PC.
- Try a different cable: Swap out the current cable with another one to rule out any cable issues.
- Check ports: If possible, try connecting the monitor to a different port on your PC.
2. Test with Another Device
- Connect to another device: If you have another computer, laptop, or gaming console, try connecting the monitor to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the monitor or the computer.
3. Adjust Display Settings
- Refresh rate and resolution: Ensure that your Windows display settings are set to the native resolution of the monitor (1920x1080) and a suitable refresh rate (typically 60Hz or 75Hz).
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings > Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings > Adjust the resolution and refresh rate.
4. Test Monitor in Safe Mode
- Boot your PC into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, it might be a driver or software issue.
- To boot into Safe Mode: Press Windows + R, type msconfig, go to the Boot tab, and check Safe boot.
5. Perform a Monitor Reset
- Factory reset: Most monitors have a factory reset option in the settings menu. Access the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu and look for a reset option.
6. Check for Hardware Damage
- Inspect for physical damage: Look for any visible damage to the screen or signs of wear on the cables or connectors.
- Test with a different monitor: If possible, connect another monitor to your PC to see if the gray issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
