HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f0000 RCTO Base Model

Hello, I have had this laptop (Hp Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16-f0xxx)  since 2021. Since the day I purchased it, the HDMI port has never worked. I never cared to address the issue because I was content with one screen. But now I wish to fix this problem. I have tried various cables and various monitors, and nothing works. I can still display to compatible monitors possessing wireless functionalities, but this is not an ideal situation for me. I can also recall using the usb - c to display to a monitor but again, I would like to use the HDMI port that is included. I have tried reinstalling drivers and updating drivers and either nothing happens or Im already up to date. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

it appears your HDMI port is defective.

There is a discussion here that might be useful but it does not address testing the HDMI port

UEFI (F2) diagnostics test the thunderbolt port but I did not see a component test for the HDMI.

If the HDMI is not an option to test then try the latest UEFI diagnostics

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

To verify the HDMI never worked, you can do a factory restore

Cloud recovery provides all the custom HP drivers.
Go to the below site and enter your product ID including the 3 characters after the # character
If you have cloud recovery you can restore your system using a 32gb flash.
It may take an hour or more to create the recovery USB.

Alternately, download from the MS windows store

Hello BeemerBiker,

Thank you for your response. As instructed, I did download and run the updated uefi and unfortunately did not find any test specific to the hdmi port. I did run the system extensive test and everything passed (the battery was stated as okay but I think thats within expectation after 3 years. It probably will be the case where I may end up factory resetting to confirm the hardware issue but what does the recovery usb backup? Ia it just configuration information? Or does it also save downloaded apps and files. Just want to make sure I save everything properly before I choose to do. Thank you again for your help!
