How do I save my setting/preference for (disabled) Dynamic Contrast in HP Display Center?

The last few weeks, Dynamic Contrast is always re-enabled every time I restart my monitor.  This is very disturbing -- I prefer a static contrast.

I am using the Windows 11 app "HP Display Center", and can disable Dynamic Contrast there. However, the setting no longer seems to be saved.

Hello, I had the same problem and after many hours of searching for solutions, I found a solution that at least worked for me. I think the problem is in the Microsoft Store installer, when installing HP DISPLAY CENTER from Microsoft Store, the installation is done in a folder in which probably is forbidden to write in the files so it does not save our configuration. I solved it by accessing the following link of HP and downloading manually HP DISPLAY CENTER, to install it autonomously, the installation folder is different and therefore the configurations are saved after restarting the program. This worked for me, I leave you the link to download it:

HP DISPLAY CENTER

Best regards and good luck

Hello Boombreaks, many thanks for your suggestion; this has indeed resolved the issue!

While the premise that the Microsoft Store installer may be the accurate, the solution suggested may not be reliably repeated. The link included does not direct to a downloadable version of the HP Display Center application (I landed on a "download complete" page in a foreign language).

Hello Robert, you are free to do what you want, I even encourage you to look for the installer on your own, I only put the link to facilitate the help because I spend many hours, I understand your doubts is good to doubt but I think it is not very difficult to detect when it is a fake website when it is an official one, I encourage you to look for the installer on your own, maybe then decide to return to this forum and thank me instead of suspecting, by the way if this in foreign language is because I am from Spain, I'm taking the trouble to write this message with a translator to help people like me, who do not want to waste much time as I did. Greetings. I leave you another link so you do not get the “Download completed” page.

@Robert, HP expects you to

  • start from the HP support home page at https://www.hp.com/gb-en/home.html (for English)
  • go to Support > Other Products
  • enter the model of your monitor
  • continue with Software & Drivers
  • specify the details of your operating system
  • and find the HP Display Center under Utility-Tools.
