How do I stop the irritating scenic photos that come up when you wake up the unit, and before signing in?  And, to do away with the repeated questions whether or  not I liked it?  They are very rarely from the U.S., and mostly from unknown places around the world.   I would like to replace with photos of my own.

Many Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Right-click at an empty space on your desktop and select Personalize. ...
  • In Personalization settings, select Lock Screen at the left and then at Background options set one of the other choices (e.g. Picture or Slideshow) to disable the Windows Spotlight.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Your solution only affects my screen AFTER I sign in.  I want to change the generic photos that show up BEFORE I sign in.

Thank you for posting back.

Let's try this:

  • Select This PC from start button
  • Properties
  • Advanced system settings
  • Performance settings
  • Visual Effects, or if you enable the Group Policy setting Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Desktop Windows Manager > Do not allow windows animations.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
