HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-r014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-r014 with Windows 10 Home 10.0.18362 Build 18362.  According to the specs.

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2017/Panorama2017/HP_Pavilion_All_in_One_27_r014.pdf  HDMI Out lets you add an external monitor.  When I connect HDMI Out to Display Port, I'm unable to get the Pavilion to detect the Dell U2412M.  Do I need to use a different port on the Dell?  Why doesn't it Detect?  What should I try?

I think your machine is an HP AIO 24" machine, not 27", the PDF file is for a 27" machine. Your 24" machine has one HDMI port for both out and in . It has a switch to tell the port in or out  Please use that switch

FYI, the only thing I did was replace the HDMI to Display port with HDMI to VGA and it worked.  I did not press the port button that you suggested and it worked... thanks anyway.
