Hello,
I have problem connecting my macbook pro 2017 to the monitor using USB C adpter.
When I connect my mac using the USB C cable the montior doesnt receive the signal from the mac and the screen stayes black. Of course I use the original USB C cable I got with the montior.
In the monitor I an error message appears that says that the USB C cable isnt original and I should use the HP cable (but this is the cable that I use).
Also while the problem happens the mac charging bleeps, the mac I charging and then stops charging and so on ...
The wird thing is that somtimes the connection works ok, this problem doesnt happen always. I cant say why somtimes it works.
I tried changing diffrent ports and even using another usb c cable and this problem still ocours.

HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz.The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment.

We found if we had this issue with the USB-C connection from MAC to Monitor not waking up and we also connected the HDMI cable from mac to monotor the problem goes away and wakes every time. This is not a great solution but it appears to work for us anyway. - Kanto501
