I hadn't been on my HP Pavillion x360 laptop in 5 months and today I hit the wrong button by accident and everything went grey, bland. Now my eyes hurt because the colors are gone. Please help me get them back.

Hi @Shythepoet64,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion x360 laptop's screen has been accidentally switched to grey mode, you can try the following steps to restore color.

  • Look for the "Color Mode" settings: On your laptop, open the Settings app. You can usually find it in the Start menu or by searching for "Settings" in the search bar.
  • Display settings: Within the Settings app, locate the "Display" or "Display Settings" option. Click on it to open the display settings.
  • Color settings: Look for a section or tab related to color settings. The exact location and wording may vary depending on your operating system and version, but it should be something like "Color," "Color Mode," or "Display Color."
  • Check color mode: In the color settings, check if the "Grey Mode" or "Grayscale" option is enabled. If it is, switch it off or select the "Color" or "Standard" mode instead.
  • Apply the changes: Once you've made the necessary adjustments, click on the "Apply" or "OK" button to save the changes.
  • Test the screen: Verify if the color has been restored to your liking. Open some colorful images or websites to check if the display appears in full color.

If these steps don't resolve the issue or you can't find the specific color settings, you can also try restarting your laptop. In some cases, a simple restart can fix display-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
