Hi @saikumargunda,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion Laptop 15 is not displaying anything on the monitor connected via HDMI, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check HDMI Connection: Ensure that both ends of the HDMI cable are securely connected—one end to your laptop and the other to the monitor. If possible, try a different HDMI cable to rule out a faulty cable.
- Select the Correct Input Source: Many monitors have multiple input sources (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2). Use the monitor's menu button to ensure it is set to the HDMI port you are using. This can often be accessed by pressing the Menu button and selecting the appropriate input source.
- Change Projection Settings: On your laptop, press the Windows + P keys simultaneously to open the projection options. Choose either "Duplicate" or "Extend" to see if the monitor starts displaying. If you select "Second Screen Only," it might turn off the laptop's primary display.
- Force Detect Display: If the monitor still doesn't show a signal, go to Settings > System > Display and look for the "Detect" button. This can help the laptop recognize the connected monitor.
- Check for External Display Drivers: Ensure that your laptop's graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this through Device Manager under Display Adapters. Right-click on your graphics adapter and select Update driver.
- Restart Both Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting your laptop and the monitor can resolve connection issues. Ensure that the monitor is powered on and select the correct input source after restarting.
- Test with Another Device: To rule out a problem with the monitor, connect it to a different device (like another laptop or a gaming console) using the same HDMI cable. If it works with another device, the issue may be with your laptop's settings or hardware.
- Inspect the HDMI Port: If you're still having trouble, check the HDMI port on both your laptop and monitor for any signs of damage or dust. A clean connection can sometimes resolve detection issues.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the HDMI connection issue with your monitor.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
