I got this monitor to connect my child's Chromebook to the display using an USB C to HDMI hub and then an HDMI to HDMI cable (both support 4k). However, when I connect them the monitor displays a "signal input out of range" error and its telling me to change my resolution to 1920x1080 - 60Hz, but when I go to my display settings on the chromebook, it is at 1920x1080 - 60 Hz. If I choose a lower resolution, the monitor does display video from teh chromebook but its completely distorted and colorized. I tested the 1920x1080 - 60Hz settings on my phone using Samsung Dex and just plain mirroring and it worked fine (other than some occasional black screen flicker). How can I fix this?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the Monitor product number? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
- Have you tried factory default settings using monitor menu button?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Adjust your screens: Chromebook
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings
.
- In the "Device" section, select Displays.
- To adjust your Chromebook screen, select Built-in Display. To adjust your monitor screen, select the name of the monitor.
- Make items on your screen smaller or larger: In the "Display size" section, choose an option.
- Rotate the screen: In the "Orientation" section, choose an option.
- [Optional] Under your monitor tab, you can also:
- Change screen sharpness: In the "Resolution" section, choose an option.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
