Hi @TETRA0,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a "Keyboard error" on your HP TouchSmart 610-1101 All-in-One during startup typically points to an issue with the keyboard itself or with the system's BIOS settings.
Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Keyboard Connections:
- Ensure that the keyboard is securely connected to the USB port. Try unplugging and reconnecting the keyboard to a different USB port.
- If you're using a wireless keyboard, make sure the batteries are charged, and the wireless receiver is properly connected.
2. Test with a Different Keyboard and run the hardware test: HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
- Connect a different wired keyboard to the computer and see if the error persists. If the error goes away, your original keyboard might be faulty and needs replacement.
3. Check for Stuck Keys:
- Examine the keyboard for any stuck keys. Gently press all keys to ensure none are jammed or malfunctioning.
4. Reset BIOS:
Sometimes, resetting the BIOS can resolve hardware issues, including keyboard errors:
- Step 1: Turn off the computer.
- Step 2: Press the power button and immediately begin pressing the F10 key repeatedly to access the BIOS.
- Step 3: Once in BIOS, navigate to the "Exit" tab, and select "Load Setup Defaults" or "Restore Defaults."
- Step 4: Save changes and exit BIOS.
5. Check for USB Port Issues:
- If the keyboard is connected via USB, try using a different USB port, especially one on the rear of the computer.
- Test other USB devices (like a mouse or flash drive) in the same port to confirm that the port is functioning.
6. BIOS Update:
If you can get the system to boot, it may be a good idea to check for a BIOS update, as an outdated BIOS could cause hardware recognition issues.
- Visit HP's support site to check if there's an updated BIOS for your HP TouchSmart 610-1101.
