Hi,

 

It is definitely a manufacturing issue of LG, a lot of people have the same problem on the Imac that use the same monitors.

I do have the same issue on the same workstation, it is not a case, it a poor connector solder or backlight inverter board.and I am trying to figure out how much expensive the board will be. If anyone knows that, it is really appreciated.

I replaced the entire panel in my z1 G1.  I bought the replacement panel new from FGT International for $148 (including shipping) and replaced it myself. This was 2 years ago, so I don't know if it's still available or what the cost would be if so. But it wasn't that hard to do. There are a number of online guides walked you through the process.
