I have an X24ih gaming monitor and I was playing on it earlier today when suddenly it randomly gained lines going down the screen I thought it was due to heat so I turned off my PC for about an hour and when I returned they had gone away but about 5 minutes later so I disconnected the display but it continued even without a video signal. I have unplugged the power but even 5 hours after the problem has not fixed itself. (I have tried factory resetting)

Hi @jamesprather,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HP lines on a monitor usually refer to a display issue where horizontal or vertical lines appear on the screen, causing a distorted or disrupted image. There could be several reasons why this occurs, including.
- Loose or damaged cable connections: Check that all cables connecting your monitor to your computer are securely plugged in and undamaged. A loose connection can cause the display to flicker or display lines.
- Outdated or faulty graphics card drivers: Your graphics card drivers may be outdated or corrupted. Try updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version or reinstalling them.
- Monitor settings: Adjusting the monitor's settings can sometimes fix the issue. You can try changing the brightness, contrast, and resolution of the display.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
