After months of research I found that there are a few steps you need to do to rectify this.
1. Replace old batteries with new ones
2. Look for the USB wireless connector on your PC (on the botton right side when looking at the back of the HP TouchSmart 300)
2. Remove the USB connector from the PC for 10 seconds
3. Replace the USB connector
4. Look for the LED connection light to blink and then go out
5. Make sure you turn the mouse on and press connect and do the same for the keyboard (Since they are both controlled by that one connector)
When your computer goes to sleep, you should not see the error mesage again.

Hello everyone, the best solution I have found to work is this. Go to your start menu, right click and then go to task manager. Select start menu and find the file Hpkeyboardx and click on it and then disable. Should be a prompt bottom right of the screen. Hope this helps, Carl
