I have an HP M27fe Monitor that was given to me in a none working condition and I'm trying to repair it. The monitor powers on and the back lighting works fine. I have no display picture though. The menu doesn't even display. I have replaced the video cable and even swapped in a new main display control board. Along with hard resetting it and trying all recommended troubleshooting suggestions from HP. Any help on fixing the monitor would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @CK6866

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've already gone through quite a few troubleshooting steps, including replacing the video cable and main display control board, but the monitor still isn't showing a picture or menu. Since the backlight is working, the issue is likely related to the LCD panel, internal connections, or firmware.

Additional Steps to Try

1. Check Internal Connections

  • If you're comfortable opening the monitor, inspect the ribbon cables connecting the LCD panel to the main board.
  • Look for loose or damaged connectors and reseat them carefully.

2. Test with a Different Input Source

  • Try connecting the monitor to a different PC or device using HDMI or DisplayPort.
  • If possible, test with a different cable to rule out signal issues.

3. Perform a Factory Reset (If Accessible)

  • Some HP monitors allow a factory reset via button combinations.
  • Try pressing and holding the Menu button while powering on the monitor.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • HP occasionally releases firmware updates for monitors.
  • Visit the HP Support page to see if there's an update available for the M27fe.
