I got 3 M27ha monitors to use at work, I placed 2 horizontal and 1 vertical. It was the most amazing setup (I was truly happy). After about 2 months the vertical monitor went black (I was very sad because I went back to an old 22" vertical one). After a while I got another 27", this time a LG and had to make it horizontal (It's mount was too short for vertical). So, I placed one of the M27ha monitors from horizontal to vertical, by the middle of the day it went black for about 10 seconds (I was heartbroken and that 10 seconds seemed like a lifetime). When the display worked again, I said, "heck no", and I didn't hesitate and put it back to the horizontal position. Now I had to buy a universal mount for the 27" LG to be able to put it vertical. Now today (about 2 months later) the LG is working great (It knows how not to die in a vertical position). However, the M27ha monitor that I had moved to horizontal just blacked out (I'm guessing because it spent 6 hours in a vertical position and killed 8 out of its 9 lives). The only one of the 3 M27ha monitors to still be working in less than a year is the only one that I never made work in a vertical position. You shouldn't advertise that it can be put in a vertical position if it's just going to make it die faster (you may think, hey they'll just need to buy another monitor equaling more money for HP, but in the long run, I don't for see me every buying another HP monitor after this). I'm sorry this is so long, I'm just filled with.....I don't want to say anger so lets just go with extremely disappointed, my feelings are very fresh right now as I'm starting at a blacked out monitor next to this one. I should have to be the ones to have to write you to say, "do your job better". Maybe we should try these monitors out in better trial runs, instead of making the consumers the guinea pigs. Then again maybe my hopes and expectations with HP as a company (when it comes to monitors) is flawed, I had felt that HP is a top name when it comes to computer things and didn't expect to be let down this bad, I feel duped, betrayed, cheated, and all kinds of other things I guess, but mainly just crushed and heartbroken.
