Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi, i just bought the HP e45c G5 curved monitor with resolution 5120x1440. The problem is, my MacBook Pro 16 from 2019 only sees up to 3840x1080. I'm running MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1 and using the provided usb-c cable. If I do the virtual displays I see two time the resolution 2560x1440, so clearly my mac can output the required pixels and the monitor can display it. Is it a limitation of my macbook? Thank you
