I've set up 3 monitors for my home use. One of the monitors is an HP Compaq LA2205 WG. I have 2 questions. I cannot find anything that explains what each of the buttons on the front of the monitor are for .
Also, the display on the monitor isn't filling up the monitor - the display is showing everything to the right and there's a black column on the left.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Manuals for your Compaq are here
You did not mention your system. Resolution and refresh rates have to match on both the monitor and the graphics adapter to fill the screen.
In addition the amount of video memory available on the adapter or shared with the motherboard can limit what can be displayed.
Sometimes a recommended "size" of icons needs to be something besides %100 (or whatever is recommended) to make the screen fit.
Please provide the Product ID of your system. Perhaps a better graphics driver is available.
