Hi,

I have an HP 750 desktop computer and the green light on the back is solid green and fans turn on and are running, CD drive opens and closes so I know there is power to the PC but whenever I plug in a HDMI or any other cable my monitor displays “no signal found” I have tried every port. I have cleaned the RAM sticks, did the restart and everything else recommended. I even plugged my laptop to the monitor to make sure it wasn’t the monitor and it worked fine. I tried plugging it in the video card and same message, removed video card and tried that way but still the same message on the monitor. Not sure what to do next, any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @MiramarCapo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've done a thorough job troubleshooting so far. Given that your monitor works with other devices and you've tried multiple cables and ports on your HP 750 desktop, the issue might be related to the internal components of the desktop itself. Here are some additional steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

1. Reset the BIOS/UEFI

  1. Turn off the computer and unplug it.
  2. Remove the CMOS battery:
    • Open the case of your desktop.
    • Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (it looks like a large coin cell battery).
    • Carefully remove the battery and wait for about 5 minutes.
  3. Reinsert the CMOS battery:
    • Reinsert the battery and close the case.
  4. Plug in and turn on the computer:
    • Plug the computer back in and turn it on.

2. Check for Faulty Hardware

Test RAM sticks individually:

  • If you have multiple RAM sticks, try booting the computer with just one stick of RAM at a time in different slots to see if one of them is faulty.

Check the CPU and GPU:

  • Ensure that the CPU and GPU are properly seated.
  • If you have a discrete GPU, make sure it's securely connected to the power supply (if required) and the motherboard.

3. Verify Integrated Graphics

If your desktop has integrated graphics, try using that instead of the discrete GPU:

  1. Remove the discrete GPU:
    • Power off the computer and unplug it.
    • Remove the discrete GPU from the motherboard.
  2. Connect the monitor to the motherboard's video output:
    • Use the HDMI or VGA port on the motherboard to connect the monitor.

4. Inspect the Power Supply

Although the fans and CD drive are working, the power supply might still have issues delivering power to all components.

  1. Check power supply connections:
    • Ensure that all power supply cables are properly connected to the motherboard and other components.

5. Listen for Beep Codes:

  • Power on the computer and listen for any beep codes.
  • Refer to the motherboard manual or the HP support website to interpret the beep codes.

6. Test with a Different Power Supply

If possible, try using a different power supply to see if that resolves the issue. A failing power supply might not provide sufficient power to the GPU or other components.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
