HP 24f 24-inch Display
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

The screen is duplicating the top half of the screen over the bottom half of the screen.  The bottom half is still readable but has a lighter copy  of the top half of the screen overlaying it.  Have tried adjusting monitor settings and this does not show when connected to another monitor with output cloning the screens.   Any ideas how to fix or is the monitor going bad?  Only 3 years old.

Try a different cable.

Try switching from HDMI to DP or to VGA using the appropriate cable.

In the on screen display either disable or enable "gaming-free sync" to see if that makes a difference.

Does monitor work ok in xbox, dvd player or cable (tv)?
