Hallo,
My desktop PC (HP Pav 550-276ng) operates perfectly with a monitor via VGA interface.
This monitor has VGA, HDI and HDMI interfaces.
But when I try to connect the monitor via HDMI interface to the PC, it reports "no HDMI signal" and display goes black.
- The Windows 10 (64 bit version) has the latest version.
- I have tried selecting the monitory (when connected via HDMI interface) using one of the four options offered for alternate display selection by Windows OS, namely by pressing "<Win> + <P>" keys simultaneously. But the monitor connected via HDMI interface does not react at all.
- The grafic card "NVIDIA GeForce GT 730" that came with the PC, as delivered by HP, has the latest grafic driver installed.
- The PC user's manual for the PC Fifth Edition: May 2017, Document Part Number: 823891-005, simply says that a monitor can be connected using an HDMI cable from the PC to monitor. But actaully up to now I didn't succeed by doing so.
- Also, unfortunately the "HP Support Assistant" is no help in this case.
Can someone please help how can I cannect an HDMI interface monitor to thsi desktop PC, please?
Thanks for your support in advance
Best regards

Hallo,
Just wish to inform that my problem regarding "not working monitor" connected via PC HDMI port has been resolved.
The solution was found with the kind help of HP technical support on telephone.
The HP Pav 550-276ng desktop PC has 3 HDMI interfaces.
However, for the monitor, only the HDMI port (adjecent to the VGA interface) located on the Nvidia graphics card can and must be used. Once connected through this HDMI port, the monitor works properly. Hurra!
The other 2 HDMI ports (located between the USB ports) on this PC are disabled for the Monitor usage.
Unfortunately, the PC User's manual doesn't say anything about this property/limitation. It basically only states that one can connect a monitor using HDMI port but doesn't say which one. It is a pity.
Anyway, I hope that this information might be of use for someone having similar issue.
Thanks to the HP technical support.
Best regards
