Pavilion s5-1554
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently installed two new monitors (LG 27").  One monitor displays the recommended resolution of 1920 X 1080 and the text and graphics are perfect while the other monitor does not, it only goes to 1680 X 1050 leaving the text slightly blurry.  Additionally the cursor moves smoothly on the first monitor but is slightly jerky on the second monitor, not sure if the blurry resolution and jerky mouse issues are related or not.

@jrb3173 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the resolution issue for the external monitor.

  • Please interchange the monitor and check for the issue.
  • How the 2nd monitor is connected to the computer?
  • Please try to change the cable and check.

Thanks for the reply, the monitors are connected to the computer via VGA cables.  I unplugged the 2nd monitor from the desktop computer (which is about 6 years old) and plugged it into my laptop (which is less than 1 year old) via HDMI cables and it works perfectly.
