OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop PC GT16-0000i RCTO Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a new HP OMEN Desktop and a new Samsung 32" curved screen.  The screen is about 1/2 inch too large all the way around.  I can barely see half the X in the top right and barely see the :BACK: sign in the top left.  I have tried adjusting the resolution and scale to no avail.  Please, anyone have ths solution?

Hi @Lepay1949,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue with screen scaling where your display is not fitting properly on your Samsung 32" curved screen when connected to your HP OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop. Here are some steps to resolve this:

Steps to Adjust Display Settings

  1. Check Display Input Settings:
    • Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input source matching your connection type (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.).

  2. Adjust Display Settings in Windows:
    • Resolution Settings:
      1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
      2. Scroll down to find Display resolution. Adjust the resolution to match the native resolution of your Samsung monitor (often 1920x1080 or higher for a 32" curved screen).

    • Scaling Options:
      1. Still in Display settings, under Scale and layout, experiment with different scaling settings (e.g., 100%, 125%, 150%) to see which option best fits the screen.

    • Advanced Display Settings:
      1. At the bottom of the Display settings, click on Advanced display settings.
      2. Check to ensure the refresh rate matches your monitor’s capabilities (typically 60Hz or 120Hz for gaming screens).

  3. Graphics Card Control Panel Adjustments:
    • You can also make adjustments via your GPU control panel. This will vary if your OMEN Desktop uses NVIDIA or AMD graphics.

    • NVIDIA Control Panel:
      1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting NVIDIA Control Panel.
      2. Navigate to Display > Adjust desktop size and position.
      3. Under Scaling, choose No scaling and ensure Full-screen is selected, or use specific scaling options as needed.

    • AMD Radeon Settings:
      1. Open AMD Radeon Settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting AMD Radeon Software.

Go to Display settings and use custom settings to adjust the scaling and overscan options.

Additional steps are spared in the next post. Please check

4. Monitor Settings:

  • Utilize the physical buttons on your monitor to access its menu and adjust settings like screen position and aspect ratio.
  • Ensure your monitor’s firmware is up to date, as it can affect compatibility and display issues.

Final Checks

  • Cable Check: Ensure your HDMI or DisplayPort cable is securely connected and supports the required resolutions and refresh rates.
  • Driver Update: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support site or directly from NVIDIA/AMD, based on your graphics card.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consulting the user manual for your specific Samsung curved model or contacting Samsung support may provide additional solutions tailored to your monitor.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
