I'm having a problem with my laptop's touchpad. All of a sudden, 2 days ago my touchpad stopped working and the cursor was not even showing. So, I connect my wired mouse to check and then I searched for "touchpad" in the search bar of window and clicked on the first option "synaptics touchpad", then an error popped up on my screen saying "Unable to connect to synaptics pointing device driver". After that I tried many things like installing many drivers and software of synaptics touchpad and watched many videos on YouTube about this problem but nothing worked. My touchpad was completely disconnected I couldn't even see it in Device Manager, Control Panel and Additional Mouse Settings. After all this I downloaded a zip file named "Synaptics_v19_0_19_1__C__x86-x64__Win10__Signed__MS_Win10_UXUI_PS2_SMbus" which contains the software for synaptics touchpad and then it installed ad didn't work either. So, in the end I reset my computer (with the Keep my files option) and that didn't work either. It wasn't even a driver issue because all my drivers were up to date and I wasn't able to update them either. So, please help me regarding this problem.

@ArchanaKaushik -- on some touchpads, a double-tap on the top-left corner of the touch enables/disables the touchpad. On some computers, hold down the FN key, and read the labels on the F-1 to F-12 keys. Is there one that enables/disables the touchpad?

Inside your computer, it is not likely that the ribbon-cable between the touchpad and the motherboard has failed, or has become disconnected, causing the motherboard to not "see" your touchpad.
