My HP tower claims to have two HDMI ports but in fact it does not have even one.  I don't know where the problem lies.  Anyway, I bought a new monitor in order to have multiple monitors.  There is only one Vega port.  Therefore I need to know how to hook up this second monitor to my desktop.

There are two ports that look like HDMI ports near the Vega port but my standard HDMI cable does not fit nor do the ports have 19 pins as they should.  I am at a loss.  BTW, the two ports have a D next to them.

Thanks

Those are probably display ports and you will need an adapter to HDMI
