OSD buttons on Z23n isp display don't respond

HP Recommended
Z23n ips display
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new HP Z 23n ips monitor that is hooked up via a display port cable to a new HP Elite 800 G4 small form factor pc running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.  I want to try the on-screen display menu/buttons but they don't respond to my touch.  The mouse cursor doesn't work on it either although I don't think it's supposed to.  When I push the menu button below the display frame, the menu comes up at the bottom left of my screen but I can't do anything with it.  None of the other buttons' menus work for me either (they also appear on my screen).  I do not get any kind of an error message.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Quick update:  I played with the buttons on the display frame and discovered that I had to use the buttons, not my finger or mouse cursor, to access the menu items and adjust them.  I was hoping to find a way to completely power off my monitor when the computer is shut off but I wasn't successful in that quest.  Anyway, at least I figured out how to work with my OSD options.
