@Mathman726,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Since this is a new HP All-in-One (24-cr2000i) and you’re seeing a blacked-out portion of the display (even after driver updates), this likely points to a hardware defect, not a software issue.

Here’s what I would recommend:

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the AIO yourself, as this could void the warranty.

  • Instead, contact HP Support directly to initiate a warranty claim or repair.

You can reach HP support here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact.

Have your serial number ready and mention:

  • It's a new system

  • You’ve already tried updating graphics drivers

  • The screen shows a persistent 1/4 black region

This kind of issue should be covered under HP's standard warranty -they’ll likely arrange a repair, screen replacement, or full unit replacement if confirmed defective.

Let me know if you need help navigating HP support or checking your warranty status.

Kind Regards,
