23-n110xt (HP ENVY Beats All-in-one PC)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have already tried the process of disabling the driver but every time the system reboots the driver is enabled.  I want to permanently disable by disconnecting the interface.  The touch screen is so screwed up I can not even log in to the PC now.

I have the back off the PC and need to know which connector to pull from the motherboard.

@KenB911 I wouldn't suggest removing physical cables to get this done, I have a few registry tweaks that should do the trick if you need to have the touchscreen disabled and here's how:

1. Open regedit

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch

3. Create a new DWORD (32 bit) with the name TouchGate

4. Doubleclik on the newly ceated DWORD and make sure it has the value 0

(0 = touch disabled, 1 = touch enabled)

After rebooting the touch functionality should be disabled permanently and therefore your problem solved.

Thanks, your recommendation appears to be working.  I had the back off the PC and was ready to physically disconnect the darn thing.  The touchscreen was so messed up that it was constantly selecting all sorts of things on the desktop.  The problem was that the PC had a password on it and I couldn't even type that in.  After several tries, I was finally able to get past that.  Then Regedit was a bit of a challenge with the touchscreen doing it's thing while I was attempting to install your fix.

Finally got it done and now time will tell if it sticks.

Thanks again!

@KenB911 I'm glad it worked, although, I would personally suggest you run an interactive hardware test on the touchscreen using the steps in this link: Click here (Look under component tests)

And get the touchscreen repaired or replaced if the device is under warranty and the tests fail, all you'll need is the failure code from the test and you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Although, the registry edit is a temporary solution and should hold good until you change it manually, install any windows updates or reinstall the OS. 😉

Have a good day.
