HP 27F FHD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear HP Support Team and Community,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am experiencing an issue with my HP 27F LED Monitor, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving it. A dotted line intermittently appears in the display. Interestingly, the line vanishes when I slightly adjust or move the monitor's stand. This suggests the problem may be related to a connection, Strips, or hardware issue.

Here are the details of the issue:

  • Monitor Model: HP 27F LED Display
  • Issue: A dotted line appears intermittently on the display
  • Observation: The dotted line disappears when I move the stand or adjust the monitor's position, suggesting that the issue could be related to the connection or strips.

I would appreciate it if you could guide me through the troubleshooting steps or recommend a solution to resolve this issue. If this is a hardware problem, please advise on how I can proceed with repair or replacement under warranty.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your guidance and support.

Best regards,

Shahbaz Akbar

Hi @Shahbaz_Akbar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a connection issue with your HP 27F monitor, especially if adjusting the stand affects the dotted line's appearance. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that the monitor's cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) is securely connected to both the monitor and your computer.
  • Try using a different cable to see if the issue persists.

Inspect for Damage:

  • Look for any visible damage to the cables or connectors.
  • Check the monitor's input ports for dust or debris that could affect the connection.

Test on Another Device:

  • Connect your monitor to a different computer or laptop. If the issue persists, the problem likely lies with the monitor itself.

Adjust Monitor Settings:

  • Go into the monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) settings and reset to factory settings. Sometimes, display settings can cause artifacts.

Check for Updates:

  • Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.

Move the Monitor:

  • Since moving the monitor affects the line, try gently moving the monitor while it’s on to see if you can replicate the issue consistently.

If the Problem Persists

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it could indicate a hardware problem, such as a loose internal connection or an issue with the display panel itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
