HP S2031 Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My monitor suddenly has quit working and goes to sleep without coming on. I do get a message saying "check video cable."  I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the DVI cable and power cord. I have had no previous problems.

My issue has been resolved with a new cable. Hint to also make sure your connections are tightly attached.

Hi there @dka1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I am happy to assist you with this.

Do you have a spare cable to test with?  It is always possible a cable has gone bad for some reason. For example at my home, I have gone through several HDMI cables, because a cat likes to chew them, until they are intermittent.

Do you have another computer to test your display on, or a friend who has a computer you can test your display with?  That way you can isolate whether it is an issue with the display, or the cable or your computer.

Please let me know the results, if possible.

Will try a different cable and let you know.

Replaced the DVI cable with a new one, but did not solve the problem. The monitor comes on with a message says it is scanning VGA and DVI. Then says no signal found and monitor goes to sleep.
