Hi @sachin_giri,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with screen flickering on your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000. That can be really frustrating, especially when you're trying to focus on your work or gaming. Let's work through the issue together and find a solution.

  • Does the flickering happen only in specific applications (e.g., games, browser), or does it occur system-wide?
  • Have you noticed the flickering happening more frequently when the laptop is plugged in or running on battery?
  • Did the flickering start after a recent update (Windows, drivers, BIOS)?

Let's try these steps.

1. Update or Roll Back Graphics Drivers

  • Right-click Start > Device Manager > Display Adapters.
  • Right-click your graphics card (Intel/NVIDIA), select Update Driver > Search automatically for drivers.
  • If the problem started after an update, try rolling back the driver by selecting Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver.
  • Alternatively, download the latest driver from HP's official website or the GPU manufacturer's site (Intel/NVIDIA).

2. Check for Windows Updates and Optional Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
  • Click on Advanced Options > Optional Updates, and install any pending display driver updates.

3. Change Display Refresh Rate

  • Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display Settings.
  • Under “Choose a refresh rate,” try lowering it (e.g., from 144Hz to 60Hz) to see if the flickering stops.

4. Disable Hardware Acceleration

  • Some apps (browsers, games, video players) use hardware acceleration, which may cause flickering.
  • In Chrome/Edge, go to Settings > System > Turn off "Use hardware acceleration when available."
  • Restart the app and check if the flicker persists.

5. Perform a Hard Reset and Check External Display

  • Power off your laptop, unplug it from the charger, and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and boot up.
  • If possible, connect an external monitor to check if the issue is present on a second display. If the external display works fine, it might be an issue with the laptop screen itself.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it could be a hardware-related problem, such as a loose display cable or a failing screen. In that case, you may need to contact HP phone support for repair.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
