Hi @Crud3
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to have a new monitor like your Omen 27q experiencing issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the black screen problem:
Check Cable Connections: Ensure that all cables (power, HDMI/DisplayPort) are securely connected to both the monitor and your computer. Sometimes, loose connections can cause screen flickering or blackouts.
Try Different Cables/Ports: If possible, try using a different HDMI or DisplayPort cable. You can also test using a different port on your computer, if available.
Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can check the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) for the latest drivers.
Adjust Power Settings: Sometimes, power-saving settings can cause monitors to turn off briefly. Go to your computer’s power settings and disable any power-saving features that may affect the monitor.
Monitor Settings: Access the monitor's on-screen menu (OSD) and check for settings related to power saving or sleep mode. Try disabling these features.
Test with Another Device: If possible, connect the monitor to another computer or device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the monitor or the original device.
Factory Reset the Monitor: Check the monitor’s menu for a factory reset option. This can sometimes resolve strange issues.
Check for Firmware Updates: Some monitors have firmware that can be updated. Check the HP website for any firmware updates specific to your Omen 27q.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
