Lately a problem has been occurring with my computer. I think maybe the Graphics Card is going bad.
I have a:
HP Envy 700PC
Modle: 700-300z
Still under warranty
All hardware is the same
Upgraded to Windows 10
The first time it happened I was listen to music on Pandora while working in the room. I look over at on my HP screen it said “Input Signal Not Found” screen going to sleep mode but I could still ehre music playing. I repeated hit enter but it would not come back. After several reboots the screen came back up.
Lately it has happened while playing World OF Tanks. What happened is that my speakers start making a humming sound. There is sound still coming from the game but it is really faint. I then reboot my computer, to see if that resolves the hum. The HP logo appears and the windows 10 round thing spins below it. Then my screen goes blank and says “Input Signal Not Found”. I repeated hit enter but it doesn't come back on. I reboot and still the same thing happens, reboot again and same thing happened, once again but this time it start normally. Once rebooted to windows the speaks sound goes away.
Last night I was playing WOT and the same thing occurred with the speakers humming. I went to reboot and got the blank screen with “Input Signal Not Found”. I hit enter but it would do nothing. I reboot 3 times and still the same problem and the hum did not go away while the screen was blank. I unplugged my power and the HDMI from the screen. I got out my old screen and hooked it up and that screen worked fine and I was at my log in screen. I then logged in. I then unplugged my old screen and hooked back up my new screen and my new screen was now working fine and windows was up.
I tired making sure the HDMI was secure in the back of the tower and when I wiggled it my speakers started humming again. I left if go and after a while the hum got quieter.
I opened the tower and my graphics card fan is running fine and there is no dust.
I updated all my drivers with “Drive Booster” and they are all up to date.

Thanks for the product information ...
What is likely to be happening is that, as is all too typical, the Win10 UPGRADE did not install the proper drivers for your video card, so Windows is unable to see it properly.
The good news is that HP does supply Win10 video drivers for your PC, at this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-700-300-Desktop-PC-series/6886619/model/6890...
The bad news is that HP supplies several different ones, and I have no way of knowing which driver is the one for your machine because I have no way of knowing what video hardware it has in it.
If you look into Control Panel --> Device Manager, and it says there what hardware you have, then you will know which driver to download and install.
Good Luck

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about your monitor problem and wanted to help -- but need more information.
We need the detail product number of your PC. There should be a sticker with this information on the case.
Sticker will look something like this:
There is more than one model of your PC and we need the specific model number to search for information about it.
Also, I see you upgraded your PC to Win10. What was the prior OS version and when did you do the upgrade?
We can proceed once you provide the information.
Thanks

Thanks, will try it tonight.
If I would want to upgrade my video card (PCIe 16x) which do I need a 2.0 of 3.0? Also my Power Supply is 460 watt, and I only have a hard drive and CD installed so I figure I could get a card that would run off that power supply okay. Is that correct? I am talking around $100 so not a high end card.

Got a couple of links for you ...
1) Upgrading and Servicing Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02871896
2) Product specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04347355
The first shows you how to change an add-in card.
The second shows that your Pci-16 slot is Gen 3.
The 450w Power supply should be ample for a low-end card.
Good Luck
