I have an hp all in one 24-dp0xx. I currently have a second monitor connected via the one HDMI port on the all in one. I am looking to add another monitor for a total of 3. I want to have these configured as extended displays. From what I have read, an HDMI splitter will allow 3 monitors, but the 2 connected can only be mirrored, not extended. I have an HDMI to USB converter but this does not work (USB is blue adapter is blue 3.0 SS. HP all in one shows USB ports are SS but not blue).
Should I use USB to VGA port to connect the 3rd monitor? Then, I don't need any of HDMI splitter or docking station.
I have attached the images.

The 3rd monitor is LG 28".

I've used USB-to-VGA adapters with limited success. Some of them work, some of them do not. It really was a case of trying one after another until I found one that worked.
