Hi @sriramsathis,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the touch screen driver is missing on your laptop, you can try the following steps to reinstall it:
Steps to Reinstall the Touch Screen Driver
Update Windows:
- Sometimes, a simple Windows update can reinstall missing drivers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Find the touch screen driver:
- Look for Human Interface Devices.
- You should see a device named HID-compliant touch screen.
- If it's missing, continue to the next steps.
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- In Device Manager, click on Action at the top and select Scan for hardware changes. This might help Windows detect and reinstall the touch screen driver.
Manually Install the Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop's product number (7df84av).
- Look for the touch screen driver in the list of available drivers and download it.
- Follow the instructions to install the driver.
HP Support Assistant:
- Download and install the HP Support Assistant from the HP website.
- Open the HP Support Assistant and let it scan your system for missing or outdated drivers. It can automatically download and install the necessary drivers.
Check Windows Updates for Optional Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates.
- Check if there are any optional driver updates available and install them.
Reboot Your Laptop:
- Sometimes a simple reboot can help reinstall missing drivers.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Ensure that the touch screen is enabled in the BIOS settings. Reboot your laptop and enter the BIOS (usually by pressing F2, F10, Del, or Esc during startup).
- Look for touch screen settings and ensure it is enabled.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
