HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-n190st CTO (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I start the computer, the touchscreen  functions properly  in both the sign-in screen and after logging into an account, but stops functioning after a couple of minutes.  If I log out and sign in again, it likewise functions for a couple of minutes then stops working.  If I disable then re-enable the touch device driver, it does the exact same thing (works then stops).  I've removed and reinstalled the driver, done a hard reset, checked to make sure the system isn't overheating (removed the back and blew out all of the dust), and even reinstalled the Windows operating system.  When I go into the bios test function and run the touchscreen test function, it functions properly every time I run the test and continues to function properly even after several minutes.  So far, nothing I have tried has worked.

Do any smart people out there have any suggestions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tests to detect problems with the touch screen hardware.

  1. Connect the AC adapter to the computer.

  2. Press the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

  3. Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the Startup menu appears, press f2.

  4. When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics screen opens, click Component Tests.

  5. Click Touch Screen.

  6. There are two interactive touch screen hardware tests. Click Touch Pointer Test first.

  7. Read the on-screen instructions, and then click Run once.

  8. Touch each of the blocks on the screen to erase them. The test ends after you erase all the blocks or after three minutes have passed, and the results display.

I had already tried the UEFI test per troubleshooting suggestions on HP's website.  Curiously, it passes both tests irrespective of how long it sits.  After completing the startup sequence, however the touch function stops working after a few minutes, whether it's in the log-in screen or logged into an account.  After the touch function stops working, I can log out and when back at the log-in screen, the touch function works properly for a few minutes then stops.  I have even gone to the point of re-installing the Win10 operating system, but no change.

Any more suggestions?
